چکیده
graphy, absorption spectrum, and by absorbancy changes after being reacted with potassium cyanide and with yeast alcohol dehydrogenase. DPN excretion in urine in some other PMD cases was evidenced by the alcohol dehydrogenase method. Numerous urine specimens from normal and diseased individuals were also examined for DPN, but urinary DPN could be demonstrated in no case other than those of PMD. The significance of DPN excretion in PMD was discussed in view of the fact that DPN is an important coenzyme in cellular metabolism and that so far no report has appeared on the occurrence of appreciable amounts of DPN in human urine.

Association of Limb-Girdle muscular dystrophy with multiple sclerosis: A case report
Background: The association of limb-girdle muscular dystrophy (LGMD) with other neurological disorders is uncommon. Case presentation: We report a 25-year-old female with LGMD who suffered from slowly progressive proximal muscular weakness and atrophy since she was 12 years of age. The patient recently presented with acute loss of left side visual acuity. After evaluation, findings were sugges...
متن کاملDetection of the Duplication in Exons 56-63 of Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy Patients with MLPA
Background Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD) is a deadly X-linked recessive disorder. This genetic disorder affects 1 among 3,500-5,000 males in the world. The majority of the patients are male, due to the type of inheritance. It affects most of the skeletal, the respiratory, and cardiac muscles, causing these vital organs to contract and eventually mortality.<br...
متن کاملHistochemically demonstrable fibre abnormalities in normal skeletal muscle and in muscle from carriers of Duchenne muscular dystrophy.
Deltoid muscle was removed at motor point biopsy from 10 female relatives of patients with Duchenne muscular dystrophy and from seven others, with no evidence of neuromuscular disease. Transverse cryostat sections of the muscle from each case were stained for reduced diphosphopyridine nucleotide diaphorase and it was found that all contained varying numbers of degenerating type 1 fibres. The pe...
متن کامل1-Methylhistidine excretion by vitamin E-deficient rabbits.
The creatinuria of rabbits maintained on the diet of Goettsch and Pappenheimer (l), which was first reported by Morgulis and Spencer (2), has been considered by most investigators to be the earliest detectable sign of nutritional muscular dystrophy. Increased urinary excretion of creatine usually is observed in vitamin E-deficient rabbits several days before the appearance of the physical signs...
